Kinship for Wednesdays
This day is for reaching out to family and getting together, or calling them and having a conversation, so this can be on the phone or in person.
Connection to family is a very important aspect to feeling more connected to yourself. For thousands of years we have relied on the concept of having family close by to accomplish all that is needed in our day to day lives.
Breathing for Wednesdays
This is for controlling your anxiety.
Anxiety comes in waves, and some waves are bigger than others. This practise can be done at any time of the day and as long as you’d like. Please practise this as many times as you can, so when it’s time to use it, you are well equipped for your anxiety waves.
The way to do this practise is broken down here.
- Breathe into the diaphragm for the first 3 seconds of your breath. So one hand on the chest and one on the stomach. Your stomach is to come out for 3 seconds and then for the last sec the chest is to rise.
- Following that. Hold your breath for 5-8 seconds. Then for the following 6-8 seconds breathe out of your mouth with the tongue at the roof of your mouth and make a hissing sound.
- Repeat this a minimum of 20 times, but please practise this as much as required.
